In today world,there is a very big misconception about the relationship between a gigolo and an older woman. most peoples definition of such relationship or better still,what they think about the gigolo is, a young man who seeks older women to have sex with in exchange for money.the oxford advanced learner's dictionary defines a gigolo as "a man who is paid to be the 'lover'of an older woman,usually one who is rich". Such narrow definition as this one has led many to believe that there are no feelings attached in such relationships and all what matters is that sex is exchanged for money.However,if that is the case then such can only be described as prostitution which is defined in the oxford advanced learner's dictionary as the work of a prostitute (a person who has sex for money). This definition however contradict that of a gigolo since the gigolo according to the same dictionary is paid to be the 'lover' of an older woman who is rich.

What then is the difference between a prostitute and a gigolo?

As I have pointed out in details, a prostitute is a person who has sex for money while a gigolo is a young man who is paid to be the 'lover' of an older woman therefore,it is safe to say that there are tendencies of feelings and emotions getting involved in such relationship seeing that the word 'lover' is derived from the word 'love' which according to the same oxford dictionary is defined as "a strong feeling of affection for somebody that you are sexually attracted to".This makes it  right to say that a gigolo is not a prostitute because prostitutes don't have such affections and emotions for their clients.

Having made these distinctions,i feel the need to correct the impression that most young men have about older women who date younger men.so many write me asking to be introduced to a "sugar mamma  and the first impression they give me is,"this is a business transaction and i have the goods to sell to the women",well,to an extent i agree that it is acceptable to market yourself as a brand or a product,everyone is allowed to sell but are you selling the right product?how is your marketing strategy?are your products acceptable?

Relationship between a gigolo and an older woman is just like any other relationship between a man and a woman in spite of the age differences that might be involved.these women must find you not just attractive physically but also,you must have the intelligence to match her years and level of experience in life.older women like the younger ones are human beings and they need to feel wanted and loved and appreciated for who they are not because of what they possess in material things.You must understand that its a 'relationship' and there has to be compatibility. As a young man who desires a relationship with an older woman you should understand that being a gigolo is not a job just like being a gay or a cougar is not a job. After all you don't get to receive a monthly paycheck or even pay taxes.You might get financial assistance and gifts from your lover but that's a different thing entirely.It is unwise to make your relationship with an older woman a job. Try to find something to do to earn money however little and buy her things as well. It's a different thing if she is helping you build a career than you making her your career.
